Conditional Cash Transfers: Reducing Present and Future Poverty is a book which provides a thorough assessment of the knowledge accumulated so far on conditional cash transfer programmes.
It is aimed at informing and orientating academic economists and policy-makers thinking about starting, scaling-up and evaluating programmes of this nature. According to Interamerican Development Bank vice president, Santiago Levy, it raises issues that are very relevant and have so far been under-emphasised, namely the need to place these programmes within the broader context of countries' social policies.
