(apart from the Constitution)

survival from day to day
scratching out a living

(each according to their needs
each according to their abilities
or something close to that)

The bare necessities of life
our blood-red tied minister
a fine example for workers
blood-red pro-poor oratory

The bare necessities of life
to steer higher education
we need a shiny big vehicle
(go tighten your own belt)

The bare necessities of life
us all equal before the law
some more equal than the rest

The bare necessities of life
embellishments for them
according to their basic needs

The bare necessities of life
public transport not good
enough for those up high
(dont drive down standards)

The bare necessities of life
according to your abilities
proletariat on your own you are

The blood-red rhetoric
of a bureaucrats tie
a fashionable statement
made in your very name

The bare necessities of life
no wonder everyone else
hankers after this existence
