Focus on Improving Students' Performance in TVET Colleges

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) initiated the Colleges Improvement Project (CIP) to improve the functionality and performance of eight Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in the Eastern Cape and seven TVET colleges in Limpopo.

JET Education Services was appointed to manage the project, running over three years to the end of 2014.

In this edition of the JET Bulletin we share some of the challenges, outcomes and lessons learned during implementation of the CIP, focusing on two particular components, Teaching and Learning and Work-based Experience for TVET Students. A DHET perspective of the project is included.

We welcome any comments on the articles - these can be sent to Maureen Mosselson (mmosselson@jet.org.za).
