Yabonga Children's Project
Yabonga is a NGO aiming to enable children and youth disadvantaged through socioeconomic circumstances and the impact of HIV to reach their full potential. Drawing on family, community and state structures, Yabonga offers a comprehensive model of care for vulnerable children and youth. In providing holistic support, we stimulate healthy emotional, social and academic development, and build capacity to lead productive lives.
Yabonga seeks to appoint a Community Social Worker, based in the Cape Town.
The person will work with a strong team focusing on youth development, programme management and development and administrative work.
This is more of a community social worker position, as opposed to one-on-one intervention and counselling. A strong focus is placed on programme development and implementation, especially in the context of working with youth.
Training with the current social worker will happen for the end of the year before starting the role independently in the New Year.
Starting date: October 2014.
- Newly qualified (or soon to be qualified) social worker;
- Candidates must have a great interest in community and youth development, strong administrative and communication skills, and the confidence to manage a small team;
- Strong networking skills are also encouraged;
- Valid driver’s licence is required.
To apply, submit a CV and motivation letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
