Women on Farms Project: Executive Director

Women on Farms Project (WFP) is a Stellenbosch-based NGO working with women who live and work on commercial farms in the Western and Northern Cape.

WFP seeks to appoint a Executive Director, based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

Accountable to the Advisory Board, the Executive Director will be responsible for the organisation as a whole.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic planning;
• Staffing;
• Fundraising;
• Report writing;
• Governance;
• Evaluation;
• Networking;
• Advocacy ;
• Profiling the organisation - to this end, the successful candidate will be assisted by a strong team, including Programme Coordinators, Programme Officers and Financial Manager.

Requirements:

• Tertiary level qualification or equivalent;
• Management and leadership experience in the development sector of programmes and staff;
• Knowledge of gender and women’s position in agriculture / rural development;
• Knowledge of the development sector in general and agriculture in particular;
• Relevant fundraising experience;
• Communication skills (written and verbal);
• Contextual understanding, conceptual ability and proven skill in the key performance areas are a prerequisite;
• Driver’s licence essential.

WFP offers a competitive salary, provident fund and medical aid subsidy. Remuneration is dependant on experience and qualification.
