WHEAT Trust: Fundraiser

WHEAT Trust is a women’s fund that supports grassroots women-led organisations to seek local solutions to local problems. WHEAT Trust invests in education, training and capacity building to foster women’s leadership and to empower women to uplift themselves and their communities.

WHEAT Trust to appoint a part-time Fundraiser, based at its office in Wynberg, Cape Town.

Responsibilities: 

• Actively fundraise and mobilise resources to support the activities of the organisation;
• Compile concept notes, project ideas, project proposals and ensure their timely submission;
• Regularly monitor donor websites and identify donor opportunities matching the work of the organisation;
• Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term organisational sustainability;
• Maintain relationships with existing donors, build  contacts and relationships with new donors, respond to their requests regularly, provide regular updates about the work of the organisation;
• Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organisations;
• Organise or provide assistance in organising any fundraising events for the organisation.

Requirements: 

• Applicants should have a minimum of three years’ fundraising experience in the NGO sector;
• An understanding of women’s empowerment and feminist philanthropy;
• Valid driver’s licence;
• Available to travel and represent the organisation both nationally and internationally
