Vrygrond Community Development Trust (VCDT)
The Vrygrond Community Development Trust (VCDT) was formed in 1997, initially to obtain their land formally from the City of Cape Town, but also to facilitate a number of development projects. Initially there was no primary school in Vrygrond so Vrygrond Community Development Trust (VCDT) negotiated with the WCED to supply the staff if they, VCDT, supplied the buildings. There is now a primary school for over 400 learners.
Vrygrond Community Development Trust seeks to appoint a full-time General Manager, based in Vrygrond, Cape Town.
Under new leadership, the VCDT is embarking on increasing its influence and impact in the Vrygrond community. To this end, the Trust is seeking to appoint a Trust General Manager. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall general management and day to day running of the Trust. The person will report to the Trustee’s of the Trust.
The person will manages and oversees the current three projects and future projects from a Trust representation perspective. To be the first point of contact for all stakeholders and communication for Vrygrond Community Development Trust (VCDT) related matters, and to facilitate decision making and information flow between relevant parties.
- Minimum of five years experience working in the nonprofit environment;
- Have sound experience in general or business management (including budgets, understanding financial reports, and strategy);
- Strong communication;
- People skills to engage the community and project leaders.
Salary: R240 000 - R300 000 per annum all inclusive.
Starting date: 1 April 2015.
