Tshwaranang Legal Advocacy Centre (TLAC)
The Tshwaranang Legal Advocacy Centre (TLAC) to end violence against women is a multi-disciplinary NGO that promotes the right of women to live lives free from violence through research, advocacy, capacity building and impact litigation.
TLAC seeks to appoint a Research Assistant for a period of three to six months, based in Johannesburg.
The applicants must preferably have an existing Honours degree in the public health or the social and development field. The applicant must have excellent skills in English-written and oral, and must be conversant in at least two other South African languages.
- Conducting desk reviews;
- Conducting fieldwork including qualitative data gathering methods and other data collection methods;
- Translating and transcribing;
- Writing research reports;
- Performing administrative duties as may be required.
The applicant must have knowledge of key issues regarding Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) rights; Gender Based Violence and Women’s rights. They must also be proficient with Microsoft Word, and must have excellent computer skills. Interested applicants must be prepared to travel within South Africa. A driver’s licence is necessary.
The position is based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg and will commence as soon as possible.
