THABANG Children's Project

The THABANG Children’s Project is a South African private nonprofit and welfare organisation that aims to meet the needs of children affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty.
The THABANG Children’s Project seeks to appoint two Empowerment Educators, based in Limpopo.
These are full-time and part time contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare lessons according to a curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education;
- Design, adapts and implements lessons plans and activities while catering to individual pupil’s needs and learning styles;
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for pupils requiring extra help;
- Record results and issue progress reports to the Centre Manager;
- Coordinate and control; all the academic activities of each subject taught;
- Prepare materials and classroom for class activities;
- Responsible for holding or initiating parent meeting;
- Willingness to attend trainings in order to update views or standards;
- Assessment of the children’s potential and weaknesses.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years teaching experience;
- Qualified as Educator;
- Ability to work with high school and primary school material;
- Ability or experience to train lower level staff;
- Trained in high school mathematics;
- ABET qualification or experience would be beneficial;
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English and Tswana;
- Member of South African Council for Educators.
