The President’s Award for Youth Empowerment Trust is a registered NPO, which celebrated 30 years of sustained and impactful youth development in 2013. As part of its vision of becoming the youth development programme of choice for young people in South Africa, the organisation seeks a dynamic CEO to succeed the incumbent.
 
This contract position requires an engaging, hands-on, solution-focused person with the relevant experience in organisational development, governance, marketing, communications, stakeholder management and financial management, who has a track record in attracting and managing financial resources for an organisation of this nature. Solid HR capability would be a strong advantage and the ability to work with integrity and passion is essential.
 
The person must be fluent in English with excellent writing and presentation skills and must be committed to working as part of a team that has the empowerment of young people at its heart. Exceptional interpersonal skills are critical for this position to ensure that existing and future relationships between the organisation and its stakeholders are maintained and built upon.
 
A tertiary qualification in the social science, educational or related fields, computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence are essential pre-requisites for this position. The CEO is target driven and a relationship builder, with exceptional project management and communication skills.
 
This position requires a considerable amount of national travel.
 
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Donor development and fundraising;
  • Marketing and public image management;
  • Organisational development and governance networking and stakeholder management;
  • Human Resource management.

Salary commensurate with proven competence and experience in KPAs.
