The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered nonprofit organisation that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch and Wellington. The work of Pebbles has five main pillars: education, health, nutrition, protection and environment.

The Pebbles Project Trust seeks to appoint a Math Programme Facilitators, based in the Stellenbosch area.

This is a 12-month renewable contract based on performance.

Working hours

  • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 3 hours in the afternoons (14h30 - 17h30)
  • Tuesday: 6 hours (11h00 - 17h30)

Responsibilities:

  • Tutor learners in specific course material and integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning (focus on Grades 4-8);
  • Keep regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions using the appropriate forms and procedures and assist with report writing;
  • Monitor and assess learners’ progress with appropriate planning and preparation, rewarding achievement and ensuring the best possible examination results.

Requirements:

  • Math / Educational Qualification;
  • 2-3 years’ experience in teaching or tutoring Mathematics;
  • Clean driving license and own vehicle;
  • Fluent written / spoken Afrikaans and English;
  • Strong administration and computer skills;
  • Availability to start asap in May 2014.

Salary: R4 000 - R6 000 per month based on skills, experience and track record, and the number of Facilitators appointed.
