Networking HIV/AIDS Community of South Africa: Bookkeeper / Finance Officer - Pietermaritzburg

The Networking HIV/AIDS Community of South Africa (NACOSA) is a nonprofit organisation seeking to reduce the impact of HIV, AIDS and TB through building capacity, networking and strengthening the multi-sectorial response to HIV, AIDS and TB in Southern Africa.

NACOSA seeks to appoint a Bookkeeper/Finance Officer, based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

S/he will provide NACOSA’s sub-recipient organisations with financial systems development support, mentoring and monitoring. S/he will ensure financial systems adherence in the provincial office.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or a tertiary qualification in finance and administration;
• Minimum of three years working experience in a financial administrative position;
• Experience in bookkeeping;
• Experience in preparing and posting of journal entries; preparation and review of payment reconciliations; and preparation of cash books;
• Ability to inspect organisations’ payroll processing and submissions to SARS;
• Ability to upkeep the fixed asset register;
• Experience with capturing monthly bank accounts and reconciling bank statements;
• Experience preparing Ad-Hoc reports on financial information;
• Computer literacy in financial package, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, Internet and E-mail;
• Communication skills;
• Ability to read, write and speak English and isiZulu; 
• Deadline driven;
• Analytically minded and excellent references;
• Willingness to travel in province;
• Understanding of the NGO sector will be an advantage;
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
