Ndlovu Care Group is a NGO that provides health care and community development services to target areas.

The group has aligned its objectives with the Millennium Development Goals, to assure validity and applicability in the broader context of poverty relief.

Ndlovu Care Group seeks to appoint a Social Worker, based in Limpopo.

S/he will be responsible for those within the Treatment and Orphaned and Vulnerable Children programmes using casework, group work and community work methods.

S/he will report to Chief Operations Officer.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and train counsellors, life-skills trainers and educators;
  • Counselling including therapy for orphans, individuals and families, pre and post counselling to HIV/AIDS clients, bereavement counselling and the corporate sector;
  • Assessment and treatment of patients of the treatment programmes;
  • Referral to other professions where necessary;
  • Court appearance when necessary;
  • Implement the Department of Social Services Business Plan for the office;
  • Assess needs for orphans and patients;
  • Assist in obtaining social grants;
  • Initiate, facilitate and mobilise community work projects with prevention and education as a goal by empowering communities;
  • Implement, support and assist with awareness campaigns and educational programmes;
  • Administrative tasks.
Requirements:
  • Interpersonal skills to liaise with community resources and role players;
  • Ability to present, speak publically and conduct workshops/training;

  • Problem solving skills;
  • Management skills;
  • Time management;
  • Commitment to confidentiality standards and practices;
  • Track record with contactable and reputable references;
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office;
  • Leadership and strategic thinking;
  • Driven and motivated;
  • Honest, reliable, organised, respectful and compassionate;
  • Valid driver’s license and own car.
