MiET: Director - Education and Training

The Media in Education Trust (MiET) a NGO working in education development, seeks to appoint a Director located at its head office in Durban. The successful applicant will be responsible for the leadership and direction of the organisation’s education and training functions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the conceptualisation of programmes and preparation of funding proposals
• Provide direction and leadership in implementing and developing MiET’s programmes
• Ensure high quality education and training across programmes
• Manage the performance of and provide leadership and support to senior managers responsible for programme implementation
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with partners
• As a member of MiET’s Directorate, contribute to the organisation’s leadership, strategic direction and sustainability

Requirements

• Tertiary or post graduate qualification in the education field
• Minimum of five years senior management experience in an education development environment
• Knowledge and understanding of the education environment, with extensive
• Curriculum and training experience
• Excellent leadership and communication and skills
• High-level planning and organisational skills
• Computer literate
• Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to interact at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
