Microsoft Windows 8.1 is Now Available to South African NGOs from SANGOTeCH

Opportunity type:

Eligible organisations can now request donated upgrades of Windows 8.1 Professional and Enterprise editions through the Microsoft Software Donation Programme at SANGOTeCH.

Designed for multitasking and streamlining your NGO’s work, this version has faster web browsing and smarter search. Access files across many devices by saving, sharing, and syncing to the cloud. Maintain your own fast pace as Windows 8.1 improves your ability to use multiple monitors and run different apps simultaneously in several windows. Discover why 100 million copies of Windows 8 are already in use - especially if you have Windows XP (support is going away in 2014).

If you have received a donation of Windows operating system through SANGOTeCH that included Software Assurance (and it is still current), you can upgrade to Windows 8.1 at no additional cost.

Easily See What You can Request

To help you manage your Microsoft donations, we have created the Microsoft Donation Centre. Organisations can easily track what donations they have received so far, what remains of their software allotment, when their cycle resets, and the value of their Microsoft software donations to date. To access the Donation Centre, log into your SANGOTeCH account.

SANGOTeCH has also published two resources which will assist your organisation to decide whether it should upgrade to Windows 8.1, as well as how to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

SANGOTeCH assists South African NGOs and libraries by providing them with software, hardware and other ICT solutions at discounts of up to 95 percent of the retail value.

SANGOTeCH is a partnership between SANGONeT and TechSoup Global, a San Francisco-based nonprofit technology capacity building organisation.
