Masifunde Learner Development NPC is a dynamic nonprofit organisation situated in Walmer, Port Elizabeth, empowering over 200 motivated learners to act as changemakers in their own life and in the lives of others.
To respond to our organisational growth we are looking for new energetic team members:

  • Head of Academic Programmes;
  • Head of Fundraising and Communications;
  • Tutors for our homework programmes.

Head of Academic Programmes

Area of Focus:

The Head of Masifunde’s Academic Programmes focuses on Masifunde’s school related programmes:

  • Bursary Programme;
  • Homework Club for learners of Bursary Programme;
  • Tutoring and Homework Club for learners from ‘Learn4Life!’ Programme;
  • Umthombi Wolwazi Library in Walmer High School.   

Purpose of Post:

The Head of Masifunde’s Academic Programmes will ensure the further development, strengthening and smooth running of Masifunde’s Academic Programmes as well as the quality within these programmes to improve the learner’s school performance and academic progress.

Head of Fundraising and Communications

Area of Focus:

The Head of Fundraising and Communications focuses on raising funds for Masifunde in South Africa and on Masifunde’s internal and external communications within South Africa.

Purpose of Post:

The Head of Fundraising and Communications will ensure that Masifunde’s activities receive - in addition to the international funds - sufficient local (South African) funding from the public, the corporate sector as well as from the private- and nonprofit-sector. Therefore, the Head of Fundraising and Communications writes proposals and ensures that Masifunde’s activities are communicated in a systematic and appealing manner within social-, online-, print- and other media.
Homework Club Tutors:

Area of Focus:

The Homework Club Tutor works assists learners from Walmer Township with their homework and in his/her subject of expertise:

  • Maths;
  • Physical Science;
  • Life Science;
  • Geography.

Purpose of Post:

The Homework Club Tutor will ensure that the learners in the programme will improve their marks in his/her subject of expertise by ensuring that their homework are done and understood.
