James House was established in 1986 as a home for abused, abandoned or neglected children from Hout Bay in the Western Cape. James House has become a fully-fledged child and youth care centre serving well over 700 vulnerable children, young people, and their families every year.

James House CYCC seeks to appoint a Male Residential Child and Youth Care Worker (Male Residential CYCW), based in Hout Bay, Cape Town.

Male Residential CYCW must have a passion for working with youth who display behaviour challenges.


  • Relevant training in child and youth care work (FETC in CYCW);
  • Experience in working with young people who display challenging behaviour;
  • Working knowledge of developmental assessment.
