Ithemba Lobomi is a nonprofit organisation that provides direct service and support to HIV, TB, chronically ill patients, youth, orphan, vulnerable children and their families.

The Community Family Support (CFS) Programme promotes the well-being of individuals, groups and families in Thembalethu. 

Ithemba Lobomi seeks to appoint a Project Coordinator - CFS, based in George, Western Cape.

This is an initial one-year contract position.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the CFS programme; 
  • Inspire, motivate and supervise staff to work together and with community resources, to meet the objectives of the CFS programme;
  • Set up and work to ensure the maintenance of administrative processes necessary for effective functioning of the programme;
  • Encourage organisations and state department able to provide a service to families in Thembalethu.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or community development;     
  • Knowledge and experience of community development work;
  • Minimum of ten years experience in community development;
  • Ability to read and write in two official languages in the Western Cape;
  • Management and leadership skills;
  • Experience in effective supervision of staff;
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team;
  • Experience working in an NGO;
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Valid driver’s license.
Salary: R12 500 - R15 500 per month based on experience.
