Humana People to People SA: Volunteer Writer

Humana People to People in South Africa is an association registered as an NPO. Currently it is implementing developmental projects, including fighting HIV/AIDS, in five provinces in South Africa. The organisation is committed to empower and uplift disadvantaged communities. It is a member association of the international Federation of Humana People to People Movement.

Humana People to People in South Africa is this year celebrating 10 Years for TCE – Total Control of the Epidemic. TCE is a systematic programme for community mobilization and education on HIV/AIDS. It has operated in South Africa since 2003 and has reached more than 3.5 million people giving information, counselling and care and support in their homes. Humana wishes to elaborate a book with stories and articles about the TCE programme during the ten years.

Humana People to People in South Africa seeks to recruit a Volunteer Writer. The task includes traveling to Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.

The person will go to the field, collect the stories and write them down in a digital format.

Requirements:

• Good writing skills, especially in story telling;
• Heart for community work;
• Ability to work on a voluntary basis.

All costs in connection with travel and accommodation will be covered by the organisation.

Time period: July and August 2012.
