South African Older Persons Forum (SAOPF), a nonprofit organisation that identifies and articulates the concerns and needs of older persons, as voiced by them, and, in consultation with Government and other role players, ensures that these needs are addressed in legislation, services and programmes together with HelpAge International, an international nonprofit organisation that helps older people claim their rights, challenge discrimination and overcome poverty, so that they can lead dignified, secure, active and healthy lives, are recruiting for a Project Coordinator.

This is a five-month contract position.
This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for strengthening the older persons sector in South Africa at a policy and practical level. The Project Coordinator will provide mentorship and training to older persons organisations, Review Primary health Care model to identify service delivery and gaps in relation to older persons health care needs, capacitate older persons groups to monitor access to and quality of health service delivery.
As the Project Coordinator, you will have more than 3 years of experience working in the development sector, good project management skills, good financial management, good communication and writing skills, knowledge of Older Persons Act, social science degree or equivalent qualifications, experience of advocacy/lobbying, ability to speak indigenous languages in South Africa, driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Salary: Negotiable
