Gates Vaccine Innovation Award

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s belief is that every life has equal value is at the core of its work. The Foundation follows four values which help define the approach to its philanthropic work, and employ an outstanding leadership team to direct its strategies and grantmaking.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation invites nominations for the Gates Vaccine Innovation Award, which celebrates and spur transformative ideas for achieving impact through immunisation.

 The foundation will recognise the winning innovation with a US$250 000 prize.

Nominate individuals or groups of individuals who have achieved significant improvements in the prevention, control, or elimination of vaccine preventable diseases through immunisation.

This award is open to individuals from any discipline who work on the delivery of vaccines. Candidates from academic institutions, governments, health care facilities, research institutions, nonprofit organisations and for-profit companies may be nominated.

The awards recognise that innovation in the delivery of vaccines can take many shapes. For this award, the Foundation is looking for ideas big or small that have resulted in tangible improvements in immunisation coverage in developing countries.
