The Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) is a nonprofit, private organisation that works to build a better society through education and development. FPD was established by the South African Medical Association.

The FPD seeks to appoint a Foreign Workforce Management (FWM) Administration Assistant, based in FWM office in Pretoria.

S/he will be part of the Foreign Recruitment Team. S/he is expected to assist in the facilitation of the registration and placement of Foreign Healthcare professionals through integration with the FWM and ensuring efficient delivery of FWM endorsements. S/he will be responsible for enhancing the relationship between the FWM and AHP and ensure accurate, open communication.

Responsibilities:

Support AHP in processing applications at FWM
  • Process applications within agreed turnaround time;
  • Provide daily feedback on applications submitted by the consultants;
  • Daily follow-up with DOH departments on the progress of the applications;
  • Liaise with candidates where necessary.
Client visits with Consultants for a better understanding of AHP’s profile and its clients

Reporting and general administration
  • Ensure spreadsheets are up to date and submitted;
  • Update AHP on change in policies and procedures within FWM, as well as affairs that directly/indirectly affect AHP;
  • Provide a weekly update on endorsement letters issued;
  • Inform consultants on any documents outstanding/needed to process applications.

Marketing

  • Attend, where possible, conferences, career fairs, exhibitions etc to market AHP services and attract candidates.

Support FWM with administration 

  • Assist FWM with any administration once all AHP work is completed.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification;
  • Minimum of three years client liaison experience;
  • Minimum of three years experience in office administration;
  • Ability to build relationships;
  • Customer service orientation;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Achievement orientation;
  • Planning, organising and initiating projects skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to source and analyse information;
  • Analytical thinking;
  • Teamwork;
  • Value building and emotional maturity.
