The Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation (DTHF) is a NGO that focuses on the pursuit of excellence in research, treatment, training and prevention of HIV and related infections in Southern Africa.

The DTHF seeks to appoint a Social Science Interviewer, based in Masiphumelele, Fish Hoek near Cape Town.

This is a two-year contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the data collection instruments related to product adherence and correlates in a microbicide trial;
  • Ensure non-biased, consistent, complete and accurate data collection across all study participants and over time.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences or related Tertiary education;
  • Fluency in English and isiXhosa;
  • Minimum of two years experience involved in a research study;
  • Comfortable with discussing topics related to sexuality.
  • Preferred:
  • GCP certification;
  • Prior interviewing experience.
