Corruption Watch is a civil society organisation that gathers, analyses and shares information on corruption in South Africa and supports a more engaged and active civil society.
 
Corruption Watch, based in Johannesburg, is currently seeking to appoint an
 
Head of Communications
 
to lead the design and implementation of the communication strategy and manage a team of communications professionals.

 
Key performance areas for this exciting and challenging senior position include:

  • Development and ongoing management of the communications strategy;
  • Management of media relations and monitoring;
  • Management of Corruption Watch’s digital platforms;
  • Overall responsibility for the public education strategy and the Corruption Watch brand;
  • Management of service providers and the communications staff.

Applicants with the following attributes are encouraged to apply for this opportunity:

  1. A Masters degree in Business Administration; Public Policy; Communication or other;
  2. 7-10 years experience in media or communication fields with at least 3 years at a senior management level;
  3. Public relations, media liaison and advocacy skills;
  4. Strong verbal communication & interpersonal skills;
  5. Leadership and diversity management skills;
  6. Mediation and conflict resolution skills;
  7. Good  written communication skills;
  8. Problem solving;
  9. Effective use of resources;
  10. Decision-making skills.
