CLASI: Freelance Graphic Designer

The South African Constitutional Literacy and Service Initiative (CLASI) is a constitutional literacy project that aims to mobilise talented South African law students to teach courses on constitutional law and juvenile justice in public high schools.

CLASI seeks to appoint a Freelance Graphic Designer, based in Cape Town.

This is a part-time contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with CLASI Media Officer to draft and place television advertisements on Cape Town television;
• Work closely with CLASI Media Officer to draft and place newspaper and radio advertisements for key events;
• Create strategy and concept for SMS and other social media campaigns;
• Develop and provide art direction for CLASI mural project artist;
• Establish and maintain all design elements of CLASI including promotional material, print media, CLASI banners;
• Coordinate CLASI T-shirt design contest;
• Provide professionally captured images for CLASI website taken at the Moot Court Competition, Constitutional Camp, Constitutional Heroes and at other CLASI events;
• Advise CLASI in terms of an appropriate organisational/visual identity.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in media studies or other related field;
• Practical experience in conceptualising and implementing campaigns;
• Creative vision.

Salary: R2 500 per month – negotiable.
