Childline Gauteng seeks to appoint a Social Worker for its Community Awareness and Prevention Project in Katlehong.

Responsibilities:

  • Class-by-class school talks for learners Grade 1-7 (programmes are developed);
  • Counselling and group work; Risk assessment and appropriate referral and follow-up;
  • Report writing, statistics and accurate record keeping;
  • Facilitation of workshops for Educators, Parents and Professionals in the field;
  • Supervision of CAPP Counsellor;
  • Networking with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Social Work;
  • Minimum of one year social work experience in child protection field;
  • Confident, energetic, passionate about, and committed to children’s issues;
  • Commitment to Childline’s values and a strong work ethic;
  • Own car and driver’s license essential;
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and presentations for educators, parents and professionals;
  • Counselling and group work skills;
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet);
  • Ability to liaise effectively with relevant partners and stakeholders;
  • Fluency in English and at least one of the following - Sesotho, Zulu;
  • Experience in the field of education will be an advantage.
