Monday, February 15, 2010 Childline Gauteng seeks to appoint a Social Worker for its Community Awareness and Prevention Project in Katlehong.
Responsibilities:
- Class-by-class school talks for learners Grade 1-7 (programmes are developed);
- Counselling and group work; Risk assessment and appropriate referral and follow-up;
- Report writing, statistics and accurate record keeping;
- Facilitation of workshops for Educators, Parents and Professionals in the field;
- Supervision of CAPP Counsellor;
- Networking with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Four-year degree in Social Work;
- Minimum of one year social work experience in child protection field;
- Confident, energetic, passionate about, and committed to children’s issues;
- Commitment to Childline’s values and a strong work ethic;
- Own car and driver’s license essential;
- Ability to facilitate workshops and presentations for educators, parents and professionals;
- Counselling and group work skills;
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet);
- Ability to liaise effectively with relevant partners and stakeholders;
- Fluency in English and at least one of the following - Sesotho, Zulu;
- Experience in the field of education will be an advantage.
