Call for Written and Oral Submissions: Protection of State Information Bill [B6 B-2010]

The Ad Hoc Committee on Protection of State Information Bill (National Council of Provinces) is calling for written and oral submissions from interested individuals and organisations on the Protection of State Information Bill [B6 B-2010].

The Bill seeks:

•    To provide for the protection of certain information from destruction, loss or unlawful disclosure;
•    To regulate the manner in which information may be protected;
•    To repeal the Protection of Information Act, 1982;
•    To provide for matters connected therewith.

Copies of the Bill can be obtained from the parliamentary website, www.parliament.gov.za.

Submit your written submissions to: The Secretary to Parliament of RSA, P. O. Box 15, Cape Town 8000, for attention Mr G. Dixon.

Closing date: 17 February 2012 at 12h00

Public hearings for those selected for oral presentations will be held at Parliament on 13-14 March 2012.
