Political Analysis South Africa monitors government policy, legislative and political developments in South Africa and examines the impact of these developments on businesses and organisations operating in the country. We also conduct economic research and are public affairs campaign experts, complementing from specific angles, the work of public and private actors in South Africa.

Political Analysis South Africa is accepting expressions of interest from civil-society organisations, non-governmental and nonprofit organisations for the 2014/15 financial year for addition to our list of pro-bono and NPO rates clients. We are accepting a total of ten (10) organisations for this round of applications, five (5) as pro bono publico (free) clients and another five (5) on our comprehensive communications and PR package intended for civil-society organisations, non-governmental and non-profit organisations.

The following services will be provided to the successful applicants or organisations:

Reduced Rates (NPO Rates) for civil-society organisations, non-governmental and nonprofit organisations (ordinarily priced at R45 000 to R80 000 per month but capped and provided at R15 000 per month for successful civil society organisations, non-governmental and nonprofit organisations). 

A total of twenty (20) hours per task, per month for a period of 12 months for the following tasks:  

Communications / Media

  1. Qualitative and Quantitative Research Development, Execution and Analysis
  2. Internal and External Communications Audits
  3. Strategic Planning
  4. Research, Writing, Editing and Targeted Distribution of all Media Materials, including thought leadership pieces, op-eds, press releases, mat releases, media advisories, press kits, etc.
  5. Media Training
  6. Ongoing Environmental Scanning and Issues Management
  7. Crisis Communications Planning and Management
  8. Crisis Communications (on site during crisis)
  9. Community Relations Programme Development and Implementation
  10. Writing and Editing Internal and External Publications
  11. Event Planning and Management
  12. Press Conference Planning and Management
  13. Social Media Campaign Development and Management
  14. Evaluation and Measurement of PR Campaigns for Return on Investment
  15. Media Monitoring

Advocacy and Government Relations

  1. Direct legislative and regulatory advocacy;
  2. Policy issues and legislative monitoring;
  3. Partnership development
  4. Government investigations, partnerships and inquiries
  5. Interested organisations must provide detailed information indicating the extent of their communications, PR, advocacy and government relations needs.

Pro Bono (Free)

A total of ten (10) hours per task, per month for a period of 12 months for the following tasks:

Important Information

  • Expressions of interest from prospective organisations should also specify the following information:
  • Evidence of being a duly registered NPO;
  • Brief history of the organisation and its  vision and mission statements;
  • Current or envisaged projects for the 2014/15 financial year;
  • Available budget (if applying for the service offering at NPO rates).
