Vodacom Change the World
Vodacom Change the World, now in its fourth year, has changed the face of corporate social investment, by supporting nonprofit organisations (NPOs) in a unique and sustainable way.
Vodacom Change the World is calling for applications for volunteers in the NPO sector.
With applications now open for this year’s Vodacom Change the World programme, skilled and experienced South Africans are offered an opportunity to volunteer their time at a NPO for a year, be it in education, caring for the elderly or any other social cause that can help make a difference in our country.
The NPO benefits from a skilled resource, which they would not have been able to afford, while the volunteer also grows and develop through this life changing experience. “Through the Vodacom Change the World programme, volunteers are afforded a unique opportunity to do something close to their hearts while imparting their much needed skills and expertise. If you would like to do the same, apply today,” says Maya Makanjee, chief officer of corporate affairs at Vodacom.
In 2013 more than 1 200 people applied to join the Vodacom Change the World programme. If you feel you have what it takes to change the world, then now is the time to apply to be one of the 2014 volunteers.
You will need to approach an NPO and gain its support and agreement on your role, goals and monthly salary, then apply online at www.vodacomctw.co.za.
Applications close on 31 March 2014.
Through the programme, Vodacom contributes towards the transfer of human capital by allowing professionals to add value and much-needed skills to charities throughout the country.
