The Zakheni Arts Therapy Foundation is a NGO working within challenging and diverse South African communities using the medium of creative arts therapies.
The organisation's approach is to use the creative arts, storytelling and play to facilitate growth and transformation.
Zakheni is calling for applications for the FireMaker Project, a three-day workshop designed to deepen the capacity of organisations in their services to vulnerable children.
The workshop focuses on experiential learning and equips participants with creative techniques to deepen the psychosocial support work they are already doing.
Various activities such as puppet making, storytelling, art and clay activities are explored, as well as basic theory relating to child development and resilience building.
Organisations offering counselling or psychosocial support programmes to Children in Gauteng and Limpopo province are encouraged to apply.
