AgriAids: Director

AgriAids is a NGO that empowers farm workers to be responsible for their own wellness, through implementing HIV and other life improving programmes on farms and farming communities.

AgriAids works in close cooperation with farm management and the Public Health Care. AgriAids ensures follow-up and closely monitors HIV and wellness programmes implemented on farms. The organisation is funded by PEPFAR/USAID.

AgriAids seeks to appoint a Director, based in Pretoria.

S/he will ensure that AgriAids image is maintained at all levels whilst pursuing specific goals and objectives as defined by AgriAids’ management and donors.

This is a full-time contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership of the organisation;
• Support and manage team members;
• Develop and adjust AgriAids policies in compliance with new developments;
• Network with existing and potential partners;
• Identify and pursue new funders to ensure sustainability;
• Report to and inform the Board of trustees;
• Represent the organisation;
• Manage AgriAids’ public relation with Government and the corporate sector.

Requirements:

• Qualification in agronomics, health sciences and management, will be an advantage;
• Knowledge of HIV and Aids issues;
• Understanding of the social and economic aspects of HIV/Aids in rural areas;
• Minimum of five years working experience in a NGO environment;
• Senior managerial experience will be an advatange;
• Advocacy skills;
• Interpersonal skills;
• Communication skills (verbal and written);
• Computer literacy.

AgriAids reserves the right to operate a psychological assessment.
