Job Purpose: The primary role of this position involves the roll out of the YES Community Hub infrastructure in the community and assisting in the deployment of programmatic elements into the community hub.
To ensure that an effective talent management and development framework is in place across the community hub to attract, develop, maintain and development key talent within the Hub.

  • Scoping of potential sites for YES Community Hubs so as to identify sites that meet the requirements as set out by YES, sponsoring entities and other relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinating engagement with local political and community organisations to ensure political and community by-in for the development of YES Community Hubs in the community
  • Development of the value-chain focus of the YES Community Hubs in collaboration with the YES Hubs Steering Committee
  • Management of service providers tasked with development of the physical infrastructure for Yes Community Hubs
  • Assisting in the establishment of the programmatic elements to be executed out of the YES Community Hubs
  • Coordinating Yes Community Hub launches in collaboration with the YES Hubs Steering Committee as well as the YES Marketing and Events Team•  
  • Sets the strategic direction of the Branch in conjunction with the Board and the Network, and ensures this is aligned to the overall strategy of “YES” to facilitate the achievement of “YES”’s strategic objectives

·       Management of relationships with Implementation Partners
·       Managing all procurement in accordance to Afrika Tikkun standards and protocols
·       All SLAs (including security) are to be managed and reviewed timeously
·       Design Codes of conduct that will state the rules, values, ethical principles and vision for the Hub.

  • Ensuring and maintaining good governance of Hub 

Responsible for the financial commercial management of the Hubs, in accordance with the SLA, to ensure long-term sustainability of “YES”. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and ensuring adherence to the set budget;
  • Compiling and submitting financial reports to the YES and Stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all income generated by the Branch is regularly banked and correlating records/statements are produced;
  • Monitoring the petty cash;
  • Managing the assets and maintaining an asset register; and
  • Overseeing the Hubs financial audit
  • Responsible for establishing and promoting stakeholder (funders, clients and YES) satisfaction
  • Responsible for Hubs expansion and development, in accordance with the SLA, to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of the Hubs Branch and “YES”, and to reflect the unique composition of the local economy and address the needs of the local entrepreneurs.
  • Responsible for reporting on Hubs performance.
  • This would include the preparation and submission of inter alias:
  • Board packs;
  • Weekly and Monthly operating reports;
    • Training reports;
    • Funding reports; and
    • Financial reports

Responsible for the management of human resources within the Hub in line with the SLA, this would include inter alias:

  • Workforce planning and workforce allocation;
  • Training and development of staff;
  • Performance management of staff;
  • The recruitment and selection of new staff;
  • Induction of staff;
  • The management of leave and absenteeism;
  • Staff discipline;
  • Performance Management and Succession planning;
  • Safekeeping and maintenance of staff files/records; and
  • Payroll management
    • Leads and manages all change within the Hub to ensure that employees are kept fully informed of changes and uncertainty associated with change is minimised

Management of the Skills Development Programmes

  • learning and development initiatives

  • Assessment and moderation of the Skills programmes within the Hubs

CRITERIA JOB SPECIFICATION
1. Formal Qualifications ·       Tertiary qualification, preferably in a business-related field or
  • Honours or Masters, preferably in industrial psychology
2. Training
 
 
 
 
3. Experience ·       A minimum of 3 (three) years’ demonstrable experience in the general management of a business
·       Minimum of 5 years’ general supervisory experience, including the management of staff, or
·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in running own business, including the management of staff
·       Proven commitment to people-development and empowerment
·       Proven commitment to mentoring and developing colleagues
  • Business plan and marketing strategy compilation      
  • Experience in community development
  • Experience in working for a non-profit organization an advantage
