Call for Applications: Independent Board Members
The (ULDF) is an NPO informally established in 2011 as Unleashed Woman by a group of young professional women with the objective of bringing about sustainable change in women’s lives. The initial approach was to inspire women to fulfil their potential through inspiring conferences, training and workshops.
Following several high impact events, the foundation realised that meeting short term needs was not sustainable and will not assist us in addressing real socio-economic needs. As such, due to the need to meet more than just short-term needs or talk-shopping, the foundation vision was redefined. Over the years, it has spread its influence in the following areas:
- Career link (a youth-development programme that focuses on empowering the youth and linking them with opportunities such as career advice, bursaries, skills development training and employment)
- Re-Fuelling Leaders (a platform for pioneers to be refreshed, network, think and exchange knowledge and ideas)
- Ignite Marriage Retreat (with family being the bedrock of society, investing in marriages has proven to be a good way to inculcate healthy family culture)
From 2013 when the Foundation was officially registered, it became apparent that the reason behind our existence is to inspire hope, restore dignity and UNLEASH the potential of Africa’s people through sustainable, practical and inclusive interventions. Our primary objective is to provide a platform to address the needs of the African persons (man, woman and child) affected by social exclusion, financial disparity and inequality. We believe that through measures which are viable and pragmatic, we will achieve inclusion and improve the quality of livelihoods.
