Employment

Thanda is currently seeking an Impact Coordinator. The Impact Coordinator plays an important role within Thanda’s Monitoring & Evaluation team and is responsible for administering Thanda’s M&E systems. She/he works closely with the Executive Director and Head of Operational Development to design appropriate tools (both qualitative and quantitative) to monitor and evaluate Thanda’s various programmes. Assisted by the M&E fieldworker, the Impact Coordinator collects multiple data sets from the programmes. The Impact Coordinator oversees the M&E Fieldworker’s collection of data and administration of tools, and needs to be able to provide the M&E Fieldworker with constant support and training in data collection activities.

The Impact Coordinator is tasked with analysing qualitative and quantitative data which has been collected, and compiles internal reports at regular intervals. She/he works with the Project and Report Manager to ensure that the M&E results are available timeously for use in reports to donors and funders. An important aspect of this role is regularly feeding information back to programme staff and stakeholders to increase participation and learning amongst staff and beneficiaries. She/he also works with Thanda’s directors, managers, and staff to understand the results of M&E as these play a part in guiding strategy and programme design.

As the Impact Coordinator is responsible for a large amount of data entry, attention to detail is an essential skill for this job. An ideal candidate for this role will have a comprehensive understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, and the ability to design M&E tools. We would like to find someone for this role who has a solid understanding of traditional research methodologies and M&E frameworks, but is also excited about developing new and innovative ways of measuring the impact of our unique programmes. Excellent organisational skills are extremely important for this role.
