NASPERS LABS is an exciting new YOUTH DEVELOPMENT initiative to create opportunities for  UNEMPLOYED YOUNG PEOPLE in the townships to become part of the South African economy within an “Internet café style of environment”. The programme provides a foundation for youth for individual personal development, confidence building and personal hope, along with both hard and soft skills. It is all about Growth in Confidence and Skills to be used in the workplace, and to create job opportunities through partner companies. This is a role for an energetic, vibrant Programme Manager who can readily identify, and communicate with the young people in the townships, and who understands their aspirations and needs.

Ideally all the Managers, Team Leaders, Coaches and support staff will portray the energetic culture and excitement that permeates this programme.

  • The Programme Manager will be Deputy to the Lab Manager, and will  Implement and Lead the Programme strategy while at the same time Facilitating, Guiding and Mentoring other staff and the teams.
  • This role is responsible for quality and performance of programmes as well as being the Lead Trainer for facilitated sessions, and ensures all team members are able to meet the requirements of the programme.    
  • There is a need for sound decision making, strong leadership, and a need for collaboration and team work – motivation skills and sound communication abilities are essential.
  • Previous Programme Management or related experience will be an added advantage.

 In order to be considered for this Programme Manager position either in Cape Town or Johannesburg, you will probably have a Degree or Diploma and around three to four years work history in a supervisory capacity. Your attitude will be one of “growing” and “empowering” the people around you and you will be looking to advance your own career within this organisation through proven success in this role. You will have the capacity to work within the Naspers Labs culture and objectives, and the structure of development that has been proven to be successful in local communities.
