M&ESURE Research and Evaluation
Programme Design and Measurement training opportunity with leading M&E Practitioners Megan Franklin and Liezel De Waal.
Does the thought of designing and measuring your programme leave you feeling a little overwhelmed? Are your funders asking about your ‘theory of change’ and ‘measurement framework’ but you aren’t sure what they are or how they all fit together? Are you a monitoring and evaluation newbie and need to get to grips with the basics?
If so, then this is the 2-day workshop for you!
What will I learn?
We’ll focus on 4 areas to give you an understanding of how your programme design dictates what data you need to collect to both strengthen and evaluate it. By the end of the workshop you’ll understand:
2. How to construct a theory of change (showing the changes you expect to see) for your programme, including how to:
- identify problems and root causes; pre-conditions and assumptions
- conduct a stakeholder analysis
- plot and articulate causal pathways.
3. How the theory of change links to the logic model (linking all your activities to the outcomes).
(If you are not familiar with any of these terms right now, don’t worry! That’s what this workshop is for)
How will it work?
Working through the 4 focus areas, your facilitator will explain the key concepts and lead group discussions on each one. At each step you’ll have the chance to put theory into practice, using a case study. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions that relate to your own work too.
Who’s organising and running it?
The workshop is organised by M&ESURE, a Cape Town-based social sciences research and evaluation consultancy.
