The Carpenter’s Shop / The Hope Exchange has been operating from Roeland Street in the Cape Town CBD since 1981 and helps the homeless by providing a range comprehensive social care and an integrated system of social services that facilitates human development and improves the lives of those who are homeless and living on the street. The Organisations services include ablutions, toilet, and laundry facilities, wide-ranging social care, short term accommodation, nutritional meals, skills development and training, healthcare and reintegration and reunification services.
The Carpenter’s Shop seeks to appoint a Receptionist and Administrative Assistant to be based in Cape Town.
Start date: 1 July 2019
The purpose of the position is to take care of all front-of-house functions professionally and efficiently and general office administrative support, such as data capturing, handling receipts of donations, cash sales, and fees, invoicing, petty cash and banking.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position
- Communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
- Strong administration, planning, and organisational skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
- A background in or an understanding of the NPO sector will be beneficial
- Action oriented and results driven
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
