The Sustainability Institute SI is a nonprofit organisation based in Stellenbosch. SI is an international living and learning centre for theory and practice in transformative learning towards just and flourishing futures.  Founded in 1999, our various activities and programmes strive to realise sustainability through learning, exploring and applying ways of being that are restorative and generative. The Indaba Institute is the first Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) endorsed Montessori training center in Southern Africa. The Organisation is situated at the Sustainability Institute. Together the two institutes want to accomplish a shared vision of bringing about transformative learning experiences, and instilling a love for learning in both children and adults.

Sustainability Institute seeks to appoint a Junior Digital and Communication Assistant, to be based in Stellenbosch.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience
 
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all the online platforms and enhance digital presence for the two institutes (social media posts, building networks, participating in online discussions, sharing news, creating content, implementing targeted campaigns)
  • Implement marketing activities for income generating programmes and activities (courses, venues, workshops)
  • Assist with media liaison to grow awareness organically and establish ourselves as thought-leaders in the areas we work in
  • Refine storytelling and information sharing through short stories, visuals, video clips
  • Assist with brand and business collateral management
  • Manage our network/relationships map

Requirements:

  • Must possess a tertiary qualification in Communication / Public Relations / Digital Marketing
  • English language skills
  • Knowledge of social media management and engagement will be beneficial  
  • Disciplined work ethic, with an eye for detail
  • Keen to learn and develop
  • Punctual, trustworthy and professional
  • Team player, willing to jump in and assist as needed
