Earlybird is a growing network of high quality, affordable playgroups and preschools at workplaces and in communities across South Africa. The organization is searching for someone passionate about early childhood development to help us develop training materials and daily learning programme content to support teachers and caregivers in the implementation of an engaging, play-based learning and development model for children aged 4 – 36 months.
Earlybird Educare@Work seeks a candidate with a qualification in early childhood development and experience in infant and toddler care to fill a ‘Junior Education Associate’ position on our team.
The successful candidate will work directly with Earlybird Education Director and Playgroup Education Associate on developing training modules and daily learning and development guides for teachers and caregivers at Earlybird preschools.
With a focus on adult-child interactions (drawing on the latest evidence in the neuroscience and attachment theory), the goal is for these materials to facilitate developmentally appropriate, sensitive and responsive caregiving. The Junior Education Associate will be involved in the design and testing of daily learning and development activities, and will also work alongside the Playgroup Education Associate to create teacher training modules and implement pre-service and in-service teacher training and mentorship in the baby and playgroup classrooms in our preschools.
- Strong preference for a candidate with a formal qualification in early childhood development or child health and experience working with infants and toddlers.

Six-month contract with monthly gross salary between R9,000 – R 14,000 depending on qualification and experience.
