The Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC) is a nonprofit, membership organisation that works in youth development. SAAYC provides training and programme support services to youth clubs in Southern Africa.

SAAYC seeks to appoint a Centre Projects Coordinator, based in Etwatwa Centre, Gauteng.

Salary: R150 000 to R165 000

Reports to: Programmes Manager

Gives Support to: SAAYC Programmes Department and National Activities

Start Date: As soon as possible

The purpose of the position is to ensure effective delivery of Programmes and Projects to young people within the SAAYC Etwatwa Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate the coordination of all Centre Activities
  • Initiate and develop opportunities for youth development activities in the Centre
  • Create a conducive environment for young people to use and learn at the Centre
  • Plan and implement advocacy activities within the Centre
  • Evaluate and document impact on issues advocated for
  • Provide leadership to centre staff
  • Manage operations at the centre
  • Supervise the activities of all staff, volunteers and interns
  • Manage HR related requests and issues as per the SAAYC HR Policies in liaison with the SAAYC HR Officer
  • Identify and engage with relevant stakeholders
  • Generate monthly consolidated reports as required by the Programmes Manager
  • Coordinate computer and IT based activities at the Centre

Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate (Grade12)
  • Diploma in Youth Development
  • Registered Facilitator
  • IT qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ experience of coordinating youth development projects
  • Knowledge of the NGO sector, in particular Youth Development
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in Project Management
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Software applications
