Post: Financial Admin Clerk
Salary: R183 558.00 (Including Benefits)
Centre: Pretoria
Duration: From appointment date to October 2018 - Renewable Contract depending on funding

Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma or equivalent NQF 6 qualification in Public Administration or any relevant Administration qualification. A qualification in Financial Management will be an advantage. At least three (2) years’ experience in administration or finance environment. Knowledge of modern principles, methods and practices to public administration, governmental budgeting and financial principles and practices, application of the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations. Knowledge of the departmental policies and regulations will be an advantage. Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, administrative/secretarial and computer skills (MS Office package). Ability to work in a team.  

Duties:

  • Provide administrative work which include coordinating the monthly and quartely financial and progress reports.
  • Liaise with the service providers regarding timely submission of invoices and reports. Liaise with SCM and Finance regarding timely processing of payments. Monitor and reconcile budget allocation and expenditure.
  • Prepare budget reports for Global Funds. Assist with compiling monthly and quarterly reports. Ensures effective and efficient financial management. Generate monthly and quarterly budget and expenditure reports.
  • Manage and administer annual, quarterly and monthly budget projections. Maintain a good filing system in the unit.
  • Ensure safekeeping of information and documentations for audit purpose. Assist with arranging meetings, workshops, functions, accommodation and travel for officials.

Requirements: Matric plus NQF Level 7/ Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications or equivalent qualification, coupled with a minimum 5 years’ experience at a middle management. Competencies: National policy on sport and recreation, Public Service Act and Regulations, PFMA, Government processes of formulating policy, managerial skills, project management skills, Interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, analytical skills and report writing skills. A Valid driver’s licence.

Duties:

  • Assist the Director in coordinating the work of the Directorate in close collaboration with the branches, clusters and communication implementing agent and in planning, administration and execution of the work plans.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the workplan, ensure follow-up on Phila activities and commitments. Ensure effective, coordinated and strategic communication activities within and among these clusters as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain collaboration and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, including development partners.
  • Ensure compilation of monthly and quarterly reports on implementation of activities.
  • Develop and implement creative, effective and fully coordinated communication strategies using appropriate channels of communication for relevant target audience.  Identify innovative communications solutions.
  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation of the progress and outcomes of activities.
  • Develop positive links with relevant stakeholder groups to ensure the transmission of information is integrated and coordinated.
