Humana People to People in South Africa seeks to recruit a Finance Manager based in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. HPPSA is looking for candidates that meet the below listed qualities

Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Finance Manager is to provide a fundamental role in supporting the overall donor accounting functionality of the organization and grants compliance  
 
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Financial Administration, ,checking quality of  vouchers submitted by projects,  project petty cash management, electronic filing and supervision of bookkeeping
  • Prepare monthly ,Quarterly and yearly management accounts for donors,
  • Prepare monthly in house financial statuses
  • Prepare statutory returns which include but not limited to PAYE, VAT Returns, Income Tax Return
  • Prepare in liaison with partnership office budgets and ensure they are adhered to
  • Development and implementation of internal financial policies and procedures
  • Monthly reconciliations of program/project income and expenditure
  • Prepare weekly work  progress updates
  • Work closely with the NHQ office project management
  • Daily supervision of bookkeepers “work
  • Respond to donor queries as they come through
  • Arrange for and participate in donor specific audits
  • Ensure grants compliance for allocated partnerships
  • Ability to meet reporting deadlines with no compromise

Requirements/Qualifications

  • A degree in Financial management or Accounting
  • Three to five years proven financial administration experience, in a management role
  • Familiar with administering finances in dual-funded NGO, donor funding and business generating income
  • Knowledge of Pastel accounting software
  • USAID experience a MUST
  • Be professional, enthusiastic and a people orientated person with sound interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills
  • An effective and efficient communicator
  • Be highly flexible and ability to multi-task under pressure with a customer service oriented friendly disposition at all times
  • Meticulous and strives for excellence in executing all tasks
  • Strong leadership capabilities and understand the dynamics of a small office environment
