REPSSI South Africa
REPSSI has been working to enhance access to psychosocial support for children affected by HIV and AIDS, poverty and conflict in East and Southern Africa since 2002. REPSSI’s vision is that “All girls, boys and youth enjoy psychosocial and mental wellbeing”. REPSSI works in 13 countries of East and Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe), through partnerships with governments, academic institutions, research institutions and civil society organisations to ensure that all children affected by risk factors such as HIV and AIDS, poverty and conflict have access to love, care and protection.
REPSSI is renowned for providing technical leadership, advocacy and innovative capacity enhancement in psychosocial support Over the past 15 years, REPSSI developed of high quality, evidence informed resources to mainstream psychosocial support into all programmes and services for girls, boys, youth, families and communities in East and Southern Africa so that they live with hope, dignity and happiness.
In the current period of exciting growth and change as part of our new strategic implementation plan, REPSSI South Africa Office is seeking to appoint its National Board of Directors. The organisation is particularly interested in dynamic candidates who are passionate about children and youth development issues, and have proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: business leadership, strategic planning, networking and fundraising, the development sector, Law, NPO governance, finance and /or programme monitoring, marketing, and brand-building.
REPSSI South Africa Invites Suitably Qualified and Experienced Individuals to join the Board.
As Directors under the new Companies Act of 2008, successful candidates are legally responsible for ensuring good governance and oversight of the organisation. Members should be willing and able to commit to a minimum of three meetings annually which are generally held in Johannesburg.
Directors serve on the REPSSI South Africa Board without remuneration, although the organisation covers out-of-pocket expenses including travel, accommodation, meals and other incidentals.
