Pact, an international NGO based in Pretoria, seeks to employ candidate with expertise in Administration of Finance and Travel on an approximately to implement its USAID-funded Government Capacity Building Programme (GCBS).

TEMPORARY FINANCE AND TRAVEL OFFICER

The Temporary Finance and Travel Officer will be supervised by the Finance & TLA Manager. He / She will also be responsible for the daily capturing of financial data, review travel advances, liquidation and refunds before payment, scanning of financial transactions and monthly file audit. The Temp Travel / Finance Officer will also render general administrative support to the Finance Department.

Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recording of financial data;
  • Review Travel Advances, Liquidation and Refunds before payment;
  • Scan all financial transactions and creating electronic filing as per guidance;
  • Conduct monthly File Audit;
  • Follow up payments for invoices raised;
  • Assist with general admin tasks for the finance department.

Minimum Educational Qualifications, Experience and Key Skills:

  • A 3 years Accounting Diploma;
  • Preferably have 2 years’ experience in the USAID donor environment;
  • At least have 3 years’ experience in an accounting position and have had exposure to the full accounting function;
  • Have good working knowledge and experience of accounting systems;
  • Previous work experience in an NGO environment will be an added advantage;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint);
  • A customer service oriented individual with ability to deal with all service providers;
  • The candidate must be able to work independently, but also function as part of a very dynamic team and must be deadline driven;
  • Have a keen eye for detail and work accurately under pressure;
  • Previous work experience in an NGO environment will be an added advantage;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Must be a South African or South African permanent residency holder and fluent in English
