We are recruiting for an: Grants & Compliance Officer for our Global Fund and Norad grant

Duration: Fixed Term Contract to 31 December 2020
Location: Global Secretariat Hub Office - Nairobi or Johannesburg
The Grants & Compliance Officer is part of our Institutional Funding Team tasked with working with other functions and ActionAid International (AAI) members to support institutional fundraising, grants, compliance and risk management. The role is responsible for strategic projects implementation such as the NORAD, SIDA and Global Fund grants. This will include advising on donor budgeting, alignment, budget amendments, internal reforecasting and managing support budgets. It also implements compliance monitoring systems, carries out risk management and produces compliance reports. Additional the Grant and Compliance Officer is involved in helping to build the capacity of relevant federation staff in working with grant management and compliance too.
To succeed one needs to have a relevant diploma, degree and/or professional qualification in Business Studies, Finance, or related field. This will be complemented by experience of managing grants/contracts from institutional donors such as EU, ECHO, DFID, USAID and UN. Incumbent will be comfortable providing clear guidance on donor policies and procedures to other staff and will be involved in setting up and managing donor compliance monitoring systems. Experience in working on multi country and multi partner projects along with strong communication and negotiation skills is requisite to fulfilling this role.
