Opportunities exist with a leading development organisation for dynamic, committed and creative young unemployed graduates in processes aimed at addressing key socio-economic challenges through quantitative and qualitative research, support programmes for enterprise and enterpreneur development, participatory governance and ICT programmes.

This study is aimed at supporting South Africa's participation in a digitally intelligent economy. It will identify where the country is, where it ought to be, what gaps need to be addressed.

Research will be undertaken in rural, urban and peri urban areas in all nine provinces.

Research Coordinators

Requirements :

  • A Masters Degree
  • Knowledge and experience of ICT (including devices, social networking, cloud services, and other popular ICT resources)
  • Fluency in English and Proficiency in two other national languages
  • Advanced writing skills in English
  • Exposure to applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to engage constructively and respectfully with people from different backgrounds
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for up to a month at a time
  • Valid driver’s license (required) with at least 2 years driving experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Use of statistical packages will be an advantage

 
Responsibilities

  • Research – organizing and leading in fieldwork
  • Lead and supervise researchers in data collection
  • Conduct data quality checks
  • Coordinate the work of survey interviewers and data collectors
