In providing our assistance we advocate respect for human rights and use a holistic approach that considers all basic needs. 

The Scalabrini Centre seeks to appoint a Facilitator to be based in Cape Town.

The UNITE as One Club programme aims to improve leadership skills and develop skills in community activism in order to foster attitudes and actions that reflects respect for all cultures within South African communities and is currently operational in four schools in the Cape Town area.


  • Build relationships in schools with educators, learners and their parents
  • Give input into year planners and ensuring that activities are delivered in line with the year planner
  • Develop and deliver workshop content to Club members
  • Design and lead various activities, excursions and events with Club members
  • Facilitate the learner’s journey towards becoming actively involved members of society
  • Complete all M&E and other reporting requirements
  • Complete various administrative tasks related to the programme
  • Coordinate and lead holiday clubs and camps


  • Proven facilitation skills, gained within the communities, working specifically with youth
  • Debate coach experience, an interest in gaining skills in using debate as a facilitation tool very advantageous
  • An interest in human rights and diversity with some work, volunteer experience to back it up
  • A demonstrated awareness and understanding of the issues facing youth
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging workshops, using creative ways to deliver various messages
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
  • A minimum of three to five years’ relevant work experience
  • Experienced in working with M&E tools, writing reports and gathering success stories and impact statements
  • Understanding of the education sector is advantageous
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to youth, their parents and their educators
  • High levels of integrity
  • Ability to relate to individuals from differing backgrounds and to form appropriate relationships
  • Empathy and a willingness to listen and coach
  • Proven networking skills and an active network of contacts for referrals and partnership opportunities
  • Flexibility, strong problem solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Communication skills in (English and Xhosa)
  • Computer literate
