Lambano Sanctuary is a Christian nonprofit organisation that cares for HIV positive children in a foster care cluster setting. Lambano is based in Wychwood, Germiston and have been operating since 2001.

Lambano Sanctuary seeks to appoint a Marketing / Fundraising Manager to be based in Johannesburg.

The candidate should be a team player with strong administrative and planning skills, able to work under pressure and work with a growing team.

  • Build, develop and maintain relationships with new and existing donors
  • Proactively research, identify and develop new sources of philanthropic, government and corporate income. Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organisation
  • Initiate and manage existing and potential corporate relationships together with the CEO
  • Keep abreast of local and international fundraising trends and methods, and identify new opportunities for growth and funding development on a continual basis
  • Develop, maintain and report on fundraising dashboard
  • Jointly set fundraising strategy, develop and implement yearly plan
  • Responsible for all donor reporting and communication
  • Organise or provide assistance in organising any fundraising events for the organisation in conjunction with the Marketing & PR Manager
  • Improve and develop communications materials for the organisation such as brochure, website, annual reports, donor reports, etc.


  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three to five years in fundraising and Business Development
  • Proven successful track record in securing funding
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Extensive experience in grant writing, the preparation of budgets, work plan development and other forms of donor proposal and report-writing
  • Proven technical skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, negotiation and verbal communications
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Organisational and management skills
  • Ability to multi task, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Driver’s license and own vehicle
