Madulammoho Housing Association is a nonprofit social housing institution, which was established in 2004 to provide transitional, communal and Social Rental housing to low income families. Madulammoho (Sesotho for “living together”) is home to more than 2,400 low-income tenants.
Based in Cape Town, Madulammoho Housing Association is on a very steep growth path and is looking to expand its portfolio.
Housing Manager

To oversee the management of the building including management of relationships with tenants, rental collection, leasing of units, management of service providers and maintenance of the building.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing conditions of the building through inspecting and reviewing building conditions
  • Reviewing overall maintenance of the building, addressing maintenance requirements as identified by tenants
  • Managing the rental collection process through statement distribution, reviewing arrears reports, following up on arrears tenants, distributing arrears letters and implementing credit control procedures
  • Manage vacancy levels
  • Facilitating the tenant intake process, as well as the tenant exit process
  • Reviewing the social climate in the building, reporting any major social issues.
  • Building an effective and successful team, managing the delivery of outcomes from staff, addressing staff issues and performance managing staff

The Housing Manager must fulfill the following requirements:

  • A minimum of a Grade 12 is required 
  • At least 2 years building management is required 
  • Experience in maintenance is required
  • 2 years interacting with customers is preferable
  • 2 years community development or engagement is preferable
Leasing Officer

To ensure that the rental management processes of the organization are effectively undertaken to ensure optimal rental income

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Marketing units to optimize rental income
  • Guiding prospective tenants through the leasing requirements
  • Assessing applications in terms of affordability
  • Facilitating the tenant intake process, as well as the tenant exit process
  • Information captured on the Property management system
  • Receiving tenant notices of vacating premises and process termination
  • Assist with credit control

The Leasing Officer must fulfill the following requirements:

  • A minimum of a Grade 12 is required
  • At least 2 years administrative experience is required
  • Experience in leasing or credit control is advantageous
  • Computer literacy is essential
