Feed the Babies Fund (FBF) is a nonprofit charity organisation that provides meals and other items of need to orphans and vulnerable children in the rural areas, informal settlements and townships of KwaZulu-Natal. The organisation focuses its efforts on babies and toddlers under the age seven. FBF currently feeds over 8 000 children daily in 250 crèches.

Feed the Babies Fund seeks to appoint an Office Administrator based at its offices in Glenwood, Durban. 

This is a half-day position that may suit a mature person.

All new positions are linked to specific project funding and include a three-month probationary period. 

This is a half-day position. Monday to Fridays 08h00 to 13h00.

Remuneration comparative to a junior position in the NPO sector.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a professional first point of contact for telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries
  • Answer and filter calls and cover the reception role
  • Correspond with donors via email and telephonically
  • Monitor and order supplies, stationery and maintenance for a small office
  • Routine financial processing including banking, petty cash, creditor payments and issuing of Sect 18 certificates
  • Desk-based research of potential donors
  • Assist with formatting and design of presentation and proposals including proof-reading of proposals
  • Submitting of concept notes and proposals to potential donors
  • Assist Marketing Manager with fundraising initiatives including the organisation of events and sourcing of gifts and prizes

Requirements:

  • Experience in the non-profit sector
  • High degree of integrity
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong English report writing skills
  • Computer literate in all applications of MS Office and advanced internet and email skills
